OUR STORY

After years spent working as a senior executive in a multinational company, Alp Törüner decided to pursue his dream of winemaking. He has chosen Avsa, an island on Marmara Sea with a history of viticulture and winemaking since 1800s. Thus BüyülübaÄŸ Winery was established in 2003 aiming to produce high quality wine from high quality grapes.

AVSA ISLAND

Avsa Island is a popular domestic touristic destination, located in the southwestern Sea of Marmara, 65 miles to Istanbul. The island is famous with vineyards and winemaking and also with beautiful sandy beaches.

VINEYARD

BüyülübaÄŸ vineyards - nearly 20 hectars- consist of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and also indegenous variety Adakarası. The best fitted root stocks for the international grapes had been chosen resulting from the soil-climate analysis conducted in France, they are on double-guyot training system. The vine stocks of local grape ‘Adakarası’ are 35 years old on an average.

WINE ART

What we aim at BüyülübaÄŸ is to craft aromatic, clean, elegant and stylistically expressive wines that show the individual chracteristics of our vineyards. Our philosopy is to accompany the journey from vine to bottle with focused attention on each and every detail and minimal manipulation.

WINERY

BüyülübaÄŸ winery is a multi-level 'gravity flow' facility sloping towards the sea. We use Bordeaux style winemaking techniques under the supervision of French oenologist François Xavier Gaboriaud since the first day of production. Annual production capacity is 200.000 bottles.
